Get It Girls: Amazing U.S. Destinations For A Fun Weekend With The Girls
Nothing makes us happier than being able to let our hair down and have a good time with some of our favorite ladies. While going on vacation with the boo is always fun, few things beat a weekend with the girls. So as we chug along through winter and await warmer temps and much less snow, let us give you some fun girls getaway vacation ideas to dream about and start planning with your woes.
Sin City certainly lives up to its name and it’s for that reason that this locale makes for a much better time with your wild party girl friends than a romantic getaway with your boyfriend that will surely turn into an argument and potential breakup at some point.
Charleston has become more and more of a bachelorette/girls getaway destination every year. Why you ask? We can’t decide if it’s a) the absolutely breathtaking Old South buildings, b) the picturesque landscapes, c) the rich history of this area or d) the incredible cuisine and drink that has us enamored with this gem below the Mason-Dixon line. I think we’ll go with e … all of the above!
I’m @clear.sight and I'm #TakingOverChooseChicago's Instagram. The Chicago Theater was originally known as Balaban and Katz Chicago Theater. It was built in 1921. The Y-shaped figure behind the horizontal word Chicago is the city’s badge that symbolizes the forked Chicago River at Wolf Point. #Mychicagopix
True foodies will count Chicago among their must-visit destinations. If you want our advice, definitely do a food walking tour to have a taste of true Chicago-style pizza, amazing beer and much more. Also, if you’re eyeing a summer trip to the Windy City, then consider snagging some tickets to Lollapalooza to celebrate the festival’s 25th anniversary.
Few things make us happier than hanging out with our closest girlfriends and sipping a lovely glass of wine. Well if you venture out to Napa, then you will certainly be in heaven. Not only are the rolling hills and beautiful scenery awe-worthy, but being able to sample some of the best wines this country has to offer is certainly a nice treat. Might we suggest doing some homework before hitting the ground. While you can’t really go wrong in terms of winery selections, it’s always nice to try and find which vineyards have the vibe that you’re looking for.
If your squad is on the more active side, then Austin could be an incredible place to visit for a girls getaway weekend. Annually saluted as one of America’s healthiest and fittest cities, Austin has innumerable running paths and bike trails that will even get the most reluctant exerciser up and out. As the sun sets, reward yourself with a delicious meal (Austin is the bees knees when it comes to barbecue and Mexican food) and a jaunt on Sixth Street, in which traffic is shut down and revelers can freely roam and visit dozens of bars.
Fun in the sun doesn’t get much better than a trip to Miami. The hustle and bustle of South Beach isn’t for the faint of heart, but trust us when we say that life doesn’t get much better than a stroll along the beach, an alcoholic slushy at Wet Willie’s and a subsequent yacht ride to live our your “Big Pimpin'” fantasies.
The city that never sleeps should definitely be at the top of your girls getaway list. While hitting the town to dine at exquisite restaurants and enjoy craft cocktails in the East Village are must-dos, nightlife isn’t all this city has to offer. Spend some time taking in the sights and sounds and savoring every neighborhood’s distinct flavor. One of our favorite go-to activities: A casual walk on the High Line, a stunning, raised park in Manhattan.
San Fran consistently tops tourist destination lists but not in an obnoxious Times Square kind of way. The unique architecture of the city and its rolling hills make it a beauty to witness. Consider this a great spot to truly have a change of scenery and kick back.
Nashville isn’t just for aspiring country singers anymore. This rocking town is perfect for any group of ladies who are looking for some down home fun, great music and fun times. If you hit up Music City, might we suggest getting your honky tonk on. Sure, maybe country isn’t your favorite music genre, but we guarantee you’ll have a fun time donning some cowboy boots and swinging those hips.
If a good helping of southern charm is what you’re looking for, then Savannah is the destination for you. There is a lot of history in this Georgia city, but don’t think dull walking tours are all Savannah has to offer. Awesome nightlife and incredible southern cuisine await your squad, while gorgeous spa options will allow you to kick back and relax.
Make sure your party pants are packed if you and your girls decide to venture to New Orleans for a little weekend of fun and debauchery. During the day make sure you savor the history of town, with its Antebellum accents and rich cultural tradition. But at night, all bets are off. Get dolled up and hit Bourbon Street for a boozy good time.
