Activist Will Be 1st Trans Bride To Appear On “Say Yes To The Dress”

Tonight Chicago activist Precious Davis will make history as the first trans bride to appear on TLC’s “Say Yes to the Dress”. According to DNA info, Davis, who is an activist for transgender people, will appear in the episode alongside her soon-to-be husband, Myles Brady. In addition to searching for the perfect wedding dress for Davis, the couple will also share a little bit of their love story.

They were approached by TLC producers several months back about appearing in the popular series. Although they were initially apprehensive about sharing their story, the pair found “Say Yes to the Dress” to be “authentic” and agreed to appear on the show. They filmed the episode last summer. They plan to tie the knot this summer.

“I think that ‘Say Yes to the Dress,’ [there are] always these beautiful, inspiring stories,” Davis said. “We believe that our love story is revolutionary to trans people.”

“We encourage people to believe again in love and that their love doesn’t come in one package. ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ was a really great example for us to use our activism in that way.”

The couple met several years ago and bonded over their shared passions.

“I’m gonna marry her,” Brady told people after their first encounter, despite being given “the run-around” by Davis.

“Our energies are completely different,” Davis said. “Where I am very fast-paced … Myles is very relaxed and he’s very chill. We’re kind of yin and yang to each other. … Just the way that he loves, the way he loves is so special and it’s so grounded in the Earth. And that just really, really moves me.”

“And his love for me, it’s transformational. Him loving me, coming to the table as such a broken vessel but seeing me as whole and fulfilled and as a gift, deeply moves me.”

Precious’ “Say yes to the Dress” episode debuts tonight on TLC at 9/8 c.
