Sean John and Carol’s Daughter are two of examples of Macy’s vendor success stories. To create more success stories like the aforementioned, the mid-to-high range department store launched its first ever The Workshop at Macy’s, a comprehensive retail vendor development program for minority and women-owned retail talent.
The four and one half-day intensive training course was held this month at the store’s offices in New York City, and provided 22 participants with the tools needed to become bigger and better. Participants were able to collaborate with fellow aspiring vendors, were given access to industry experts and solicited one-on-one business coaching. Macy’s even recruited a few key vendors to speak to the program’s participants, such as FUBU’s Daymond John and Lisa Price.
