According to Politico, the day after Father’s Day, President Barack Obama on Monday will call for greater help and assistance for the fathers to “make responsible choices,” and is enlisting the NFL, PTA and other groups in a President’s Fatherhood and Mentoring Initiative.

Politico reports:

Obama plans to travel to a nonprofit called THEARC (Town Hall Education, Arts & Recreation Campus), located east of the Anacostia River in the District of Columbia’s Ward 8. The audience of 350 is to include leaders from fatherhood groups, women’s organizations and sports leagues.

“We can’t legislate fatherhood – we can’t force anyone to love a child,” Obama says in prepared remarks. “But what we can do is send a clear message to our fathers that there is no excuse for failing to meet their obligations. What we can do is make it easier for fathers who make responsible choices and harder for those who avoid them. What we can do is come together and support fathers who are willing to step up and be good parents, partners and providers. …
