Exclusive: Stylist Goo Goo Atkins’ New WE TV Series Offers Instruction On Dressing For Your Body Type

September 17, 2015  |

Most of us don’t have the time or the budget required for working with a personal stylist. And while the Internet allows those of us who need a bit of assistance in the fashion department to glean from the social media accounts belonging to some of our favorite fashionistas, sometimes those simple still shots simply aren’t enough. Thankfully, style students may be able to score some extra credit with We tv’s new web series, “Goo Ru Style,” starring celebrity stylist Goo Goo Atkins.

The “Mary Mary” star, who has styled her celebrity sisters as well as Niecy Nash, Laila Ali and a host of others, will provide viewers with thorough advice on dressing for your body type and looking your best.

“Goo Goo has an amazing sense of style and self-awareness, and her ability to weave together positive messages for women of all sizes with fun and creative tips on looking your best is more than impressive,” said Jen Robertson, WE tv’s SVP, digital media and business development. “Goo Ru Style is an engaging and interactive way to provide our existing fans with more content and reach new users to expand our audience base.”

Season one of the eight-episode series kicks off Thursday, September 17 on WEtv.com as well as the network’s YouTube channel, Madame Noire has exclusively learned. Atkins is expected to cover a variety of topics including:

What to Wear When

Finding Your Celebrity Style Match

Secret Style Weapons,

Amping Your Look in 15 Minutes

Closet Essentials

“It’s important to me that women, no matter what shape or size, understand they don’t have to be a celebrity to look or feel amazing!” said Atkins. “I’m excited that WE tv has given me the opportunity to share my knowledge and sense of style with the everyday woman.”

Atkins intends for the style journey to be an interactive experience, so fans are encouraged to submit their style questions in addition to topics they’d like to see addressed in future episodes by leaving feedback on YouTube, on Twitter at @GooRuStyle_WEtv and on the “Goo Ru Style” Facebook page.
