Iconic pop songstress Janet Jackson has hit the road with her highly-anticipated “Unbreakable” World Tour and is already receiving rave reviews for her performance.

With a set list featuring classic hits like “Pleasure Principle” to “Rhythm Nation”” to “Control,” Jackson has also included a few current tracks like the J.Cole-assisted “No Sleeep” to her already expansive lineup.

In addition to showing love to the North Carolina emcee, a fan captured Jackson turning up to Kendrick Lamar’s 2012 hit “Poetic Justice” at her Grand Rapids show on Friday (Sept. 11) night.

Serenading fans with her original “Anytime, Anyplace” track, which Lamar sampled in “Poetic Justice,” Ms. Jackson smoothly transitioned into the Compton native’s rendition, jamming and two-stepping to the beat. We even peeped a slight Diddy bop (around the 0:24 mark) too.

Anytime a musical legend like Janet is jamming to your song like that, it’s definitely nothing short of a cosign.

Janet’s next show stop in the U.S. will be Raleigh, NC at the Walnut Creek Amphitheatre. Click here to check out the full list of her U.S. tour dates.

I went to the Grand Rapids show when she did this and we went nuts. The way she hit the stage, it was like she never left! It was the best 2 hours of my life and Janet still dominates with grace and sex appeal. She was perfect!

I went to the Cincinnati show and it was awesome. No opening act just her, the dancers and a mic. I got my monies worth. It really put into perspective the lyrical content of her songs and the showmanship which she performs with go Mrs. Jackson.

Is it really? My sister and I was thinking on going next year but it doesn’t seem…energetic as her concerts usually are…

      • c

I think the reason you say that is because of the way the set list is set up. The more energetic songs are in the beginning and then the slow ballad one’s are in the second list and then she closes out with more energetic songs. BTW don’t let her age fool you she still gets down in the dance department. Yet I believe where Janet really shines vocally is her slow mid tempo songs. I mean if you think about the current state of music doesn’t really have that anymore. I think that why you keep getting the impression that it’s not going to be up beat, because everyone keeps recording those particular songs. In closing this tour is really about the fans and giving them what they want to hear. I notice most of the people in the audience were late 20s and older. I hope this helps.

So will she do the same for Wale & him sampling We Go Deep?

    • c

I though she didn’t agree to the use of her song due to the lyrical content of the track?

      • Momma Dee Tha Q.U.E.E.N

Ahh yeah I heard that too. 🙁 dag nabbit, Wale takes another L. And he thinks he’s too good to lay a track with the Prince of the South. The nerve of him.

        • I_am_a_Gladiator/Scandalista

LOL! Oh Momma Dee, you so crazy!

  • Myllee

First MN you are so wrong for this top picture lol. Anyway, I love how Ms Jackson was feeling the music, this is so cute,

  • siarasheree

  • BlueDeja

That was so cool 🙂 that is a great song

  • cujokay

She’s exceptional! NONE of these chicks are doing it like Ms. Jackson! Bow down.

I wish her nothing but the best and sold out concerts.

  • elainemarylee

That’s dope magic. I really like her two newly released tracks, simply reminding me of her original R&B soulful sound. Maybe they can do collaboration on a track, old school meets new school. I am really rooting for her!
