Keyshia Cole’s Mom And Sister Head To “Paternity Court” [Watch]
Keyshia Cole’s relatives are back in the spotlight.
The singer’s mother, Frankie Lons, and half-sister, Elite Noel, will make an appearance on the September 24 episode of Judge Lauren Lake’s “Paternity Court.” With the help of Judge Lake, the women hope to establish the identity of Noel’s biological father once and for all.
Due to the “fast and irresponsible lifestyle” she led back when Noel was conceived, Lons admits that there are several men who could be her daughter’s father. However, only two appear on the episode—including the uncle of Lons’ other daughter, Neffeteria Pugh.
“I could line up five men here. We’re talking 30 years ago, and that’s sad,” Lons emotionally reveals during the proceedings. “These tears are for none of these people, none of these men, they’re for her. Because no matter what, the test results will hurt, whether they are positive or negative. She still has to live with my mistakes, and I’m here to correct it.”
As you may recall, Lons and Noel already tested one man on their BET reality series, “Frankie & Neffe”.
“I don’t want to be judgmental towards my mother because due to the circumstances from being on the streets and being on drugs and dealing with these type of men, I don’t want to judge her for that,” said Noel. “But on another note I feel like why do I have to continue to suffer from the things that happened in the past? The things that I couldn’t control then and the things I can’t control now.”
Lons also hopes that her story will serve as cautionary tale for young women who engage in sex with multiple partners within a short timeframe.
“If we are going to let this be a lesson for all the women around the world, please limit your sexual partners and then you won’t have to go through this,” she said.
