Andre 3000 Joins ABC’s “American Crime” Season 2
The #MCM of many, Andre 3000, will be taking over our television screens very soon.
The rapper has been pretty hush these days on the music scene, lending his adept wordplay to only a select few. While Outkast fans have waited for him to surprise them with a new album, it looks as if 3000 has other things on the brain with acting being one. Andre has been cast in the upcoming second season of ABC’s hit drama American Crime, where he will play the role of Michael Lacroix, a seasoned architect.
Director John Ridley, who worked with Andre on the Jimi Hendrix film All Is By My Side was elated to work with the Outkast co-founder again. “He is an amazing individual, a true artist, and All Is By My Side is one of the reasons I was given the reins on American Crime,” he told the Hollywood Reporter. “Folks at ABC were absolutely moved by Andre’s performance in the film, and by the overall language of cinema we used in telling the story. It’s fair to say American Crime might not exist were it not for our previous collaboration.”
3000 is no stranger to acting as he has been cast in a number of movies like Be Cool, Four Brothers, Idlewild and has made appearances on a few TV series. However, American Crime will be his first reoccurring role on the small screen.
The network has yet to release a premiere date for season two, but we will definitely be tuned in to see Mr. 3000.
