#ManCrushMonday: LeBron James
It’s only fair and appropriate that after the Cleveland Cavaliers’ win against the Golden State Warriors during game two of the 2015 NBA Finals last night (June 7th), LeBron James is awarded the honor of being Mommynoire’s Man Crush Monday subject this week.
Despite the Cavs being hit with injuries, which meant Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love sat on the sidelines with zero participation this time around, leaving the likes of Matthew Dellavedova, Timofey Mozgov and Tristan Thompson to play a rotating and sometimes collective number two to James, the Cavs tied with Golden State 1-1 after a 95-93 overtime win at Oracle Arena.
This win couldn’t have been attained without James’ special performance yesterday. He’s averaging 41.5 points, 12 rebounds and 8.5 assists through two Final games, which seems nearly impossible for most players, but not for LeBron, who is spearheading the movement to keep his team alive against the equally talented Warriors. The Cavaliers had 14 assists in Game 2, and 11 of them came from LeBron. If this doesn’t sound impressive enough on it’s own, lets just say no other player on the team recorded more than one. Does this put things in perspective for ya?
Add to that what appeared to be missed calls after missed calls from the referees late in Game two, LeBron practically playing double duty in Irving’s absence and, although he didn’t find his rhythm during this game, playing against MVP Stephen Curry. Let’s just say, this big guy right here is undoubtedly one talented basketball player.
In his personal life, James is also a stand-up dude. He’s married to his high school sweetheart, the beautiful Savannah Brinson, who he’s been dating since age 16 when both attended St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio. The couple have three children together. James proposed to Savannah on New Years’ Eve in 2011 and in 2013, during a three-day celebration in San Diego, California, the two tied the knot. Those in attendance included then teammates Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, as well as Jay-Z and Beyonce, who performed a special performance for the newlyweds.
