Are You Confident or Cocky?

How do you label someone a confident or cocky person? Common sense should tell you. Other times, situations may reveal the difference between a narcissist and someone who knows who they are.  For instance, your friend may be trying to engage you in conversation and share their opinions; that’s self-assureness, another may go the extra mile to prove that they’re smarter than you! This is a prime example of an arrogant person. Going forward, here are some signals to differentiate between the two:

    Cocky people are usually brash and boorish braggarts. They have a high opinion of themselves and their abilities and want everyone else to acknowledge the skills because they have an insecurity about them that yells out for validation from others. Confident people don't need to shout their abilities like Paul Revere. They're doers. They make things happen then move onto the next thing. Their actions speak for themselves. They don't need to brag and cry out for attention while waiting to get credit for every little deed..

    I really never understood for the life of me…how people can have the energy to be so conceited. As the saying goes, if you look good you don't have to say anything people can see it. But it's very clear that people that always "talk" about themselves are clearly insecure and like the post said needs validation.
