5 Valentines Day Ideas For Men Based on Their “Love Language”
Valentine’s Day is Saturday and originally, I was going to tell you five ways to surprise your guy on Valentine’s Day. The truth is, I got nothing. Hell, I-and most men-are surprised to get anything at all. Other than my daughter being born on February 14 (she was due March 7th), the best and most surprising gift I got for Valentine’s Day was a handwritten note and my favorite value meal from McDonald’s after fighting all day. It actually meant the world to me because in spite of some pretty hurtful things said and slamming a gift I spent a lot of effort into, what mattered the most was that the girl in my life at the time let me know I was appreciated. Validation is what men run on…That’s it.
Knowing who you’re dealing with is the key. Being aware of what and how your significant other gives and receives love is essential and somehow demonstrating this with a gesture is what Valentine’s Day is all about. According to author and relationship counselor Gary Chapman there are five love languages that we all speak and understand. Based on these five methods of communication here are ways to express how much the man in your life is special come Saturday.
