Exclusive: Lisa Price Speaks On Impact Of Miss Jessie’s Titi Branch

On Monday news broke that Titi Branch (above, left with blonde hair), co-founder of Miss Jessie’s haircare company passed away. The indomitable curly haired sister of Miko, was ever-present in advertisements, at events and during styling presentations.

Having founded the company in 2004, the sisters grew their brand from a Brooklyn salon and dream into a multi-million dollar business.

Synonymous with Miss Jessie’s is Carol’s Daughter. In addition to both natural haircare companies being named after relatives, their founders are well-respected and recognized. Both companies have products sold nationwide in drugstores, mega-retailers and online.

Lisa Price, president of Carol’s Daughter, recently merged with L’Oreal USA taking her company to new heights. And like Miss Jessie’s, the move elevated her platform to promote natural beauty. “Titi and her sister Miko grew up with a particular beauty need that was not addressed and after years of ‘making do,’ like so many of us, they decided to ‘get it done’,” Price told StyleBlazer exclusively.
