Then none of these AFRO CENTRIC styles would work either and that was just an EXAMPLE of one side…I’m just tired of the overly AFRO-CENTRIC styles….

Why not just a nice simple style with a little jazz? It’s just ghetto.

loosely braided side pony tails… just not a style that works on most of us with thick kinky hair… that would be a disaster…

  • PolkaDots

Nope but I wanna some NORMAL “protective”- (your people’s language) styles. Like a nice loosely braided long side pony tail but noooope we gotta get the ETHNIC stank put on everything.

  • PolkaDots

Nawh, their too ETHNIC! Jesus, no one wants to go to work looking like they just came from AFRICA.

Oh, you mean EURO-CENTRIC styles? SMH!

Thanks for taking the time to discuss this. I feel strongly about it and love learning more on this topic. If possible, as you gain expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more information? It is extremely helpful for me.

@disqus_gN8Qlqva8I:disqus do u mean, why do all of these ladies have natural hair? They have twists, braids, buns and updos, all of these are considered “Protective styling”. What other styles do u want to see? A full sew in weave?

  • PolkaDots

Why are all these styles so AFRO-CENTRIC. There are other styles that can be worn that protect your hair.
