On last night’s season finale of “Tia & Tamera”, Tamera gave birth to a baby boy named Aden. The new mom decided to try placentophagia, the practice of new mothers eating the placenta. Mammals, including many primates, eat the placenta after birth, and while placenta has been a part of Chinese medicine for centuries, it’s becoming increasingly popular with today’s moms. Many holistic practioners say placenta will prevent postpartum depression, give mom strength, among other benefits. Mothers have started making the placenta into pills or cooking it as they would liver or steak; Tamera mixed it with brandy. And then asked her sister to try it.
