A New App for Car Safety

January 15, 2013 ‐ By Desiree Browne

The American Association of Pediatrics unveiled a new iPhone app to help parents install car seats properly, just in time for Automotive Safety Month. The app, called Car Seat Check, answers any questions about buying, installing, and caring for a car seat for $1.99. It lets parents enter their child’s weight and height to find out what kind of seat their child needs. Users can watch instructional installation videos. Still not quite sure you’re doing it right? The app will help you find a car seat technician nearby.

Car Seat App will push relevant recall information to phones, making sure parents have the most up-to-date information about their products. In addition, the app helps parents shop smarter for their kids’ car seats. Parents will also have access to travel tips, articles from HealthyChildren.org and seat manufacturer contact information should you have a child with special needs or additional questions.
