Let’s face it ladies, men aren’t the only ones who cheat. While I would agree that the majority of women aren’t just out there on the rampage looking for the next big score, we can be just as guilty when it comes to affairs of the heart. What makes us even more deadly is our ability to cover our tracks. Shhh…You know what I’m talking about.
In my own experience, I’ve cheated because there was a void; whether it was financial, emotional, or physical or a combination. All I can say is – something was missing in my relationship. Most times I had exhausted myself trying to correct the problems we had. My failed attempts at resolving various matters left me feeling as though my back was against the wall – without options. That’s when I decided to get some. I’ve learned that cheating is about control and when we as women can’t get it any other way; we’ll take matters into our own hands.
For example, your mate isn’t complimenting you the way he used to, but your male co-worker seems to notice all the things your guy does not.
“You look nice today.” “You smell great, what are you wearing?” “Did you cut your hair or color it, something’s different?”
We devour this kind of attention and usually it’s all that we desire from the one that we love. So what’s the solution?
As I’ve gotten older I try my best to treat people the way I want to be treated. If I’m not getting something from my mate, I ask for it/demand it. I’ll even remind him, if he doesn’t correct the matter within a reasonable amount of time, but I also take time to look at myself and what I’m giving or holding back on. Cheating is a dirty game. Ultimately you end up hurting yourself in the end.
No judgment here. I have been there. But now that I know better, I’m trying to do better.
Have you ever cheated? If so, why?
