Police In Pursuit Of Alleged Rihanna Stalker After Online Death Threats
Police are investigating another man accused of stalking Rihanna, TMZ reports. According to law enforcement sources, the suspect, who goes by Alex Mercer on Twitter and Ralph Alexander on Yahoo, posted a selfie on April 30 in which he’s standing in front of Rihanna’s former residence.
Within 24 hours of his original post, he followed up with a tweet, which reads:
“Should of killed @rihanna a minute back I would be good right now. Sorcery is a weapon I use guns, bout to get a gun license, can’t use my hands.”
Police responded to the home after being tipped off about the frightening message, but the suspect was gone by the time they arrived. Reportedly, investigators are now using technology and social media to track him down.
Strangely, this isn’t the first time the singer has received terrifying threats. Last summer, 54-year-old Kevin McGlynn was arrested for delivering handwritten notes to Ri’s Manhattan apartment. He was eventually released to a psychiatric hospital and prohibited from contacting the “BBHMM” singer. He was also barred from going near her home. A Manhattan judge compared McGlynn to the man who killed John Lennon in his November 2014 ruling.
“He appears to be a ticking time bomb who is wholly fixated on (Rihanna), and poses a direct threat of serious physical harm or death to her and anyone around her,” Judge Orlando Marrazzo said. “It is entirely foreseeable that if he were free to continue to act upon his psychotic delusions without this court’s intervention, it may result in the death of (Rihanna) or other innocent persons.”
