On June 17, Kim Coles, 53, and Reggie McKiver, 41, tied the knot during an intimate wedding ceremony in the Dominican Republic. Shortly after the ceremony, the “Living Single” actress excitedly announced the news on Facebook:
On Wednesday 6/17/2015, two best friends got married! We will have official pictures soon, but take this as our own announcement that “We’s Married Now!” We would like to send our love and thanks to those in attendance and REMIND you to keep everything hush-hush until we say so! The couple met after Mckiver was assigned as Coles’ security escort at a natural hair expo.
“[My heart] was open just enough for Reggie to come through, and I’m so glad he did,” the newlywed told People. “I’m 53, and Reggie is 41 but I’m not a cougar. I can’t run that fast. I’m a meerkat or a prairie dog. It’s about the right energy. It wasn’t like I was trolling for younger men. It’s about energy. We’re ageless. Just two people on the same plane.”
The couple engaged in a long distance relationship before Mckiver finally asked for his love’s hand in marriage during a dinner outing at The Olive Garden. Interestingly, he proposed without a ring. He later presented his new fiancée with mother’s old engagement ring.
“I didn’t have a stitch of makeup on!” she reflected.
She later announced the upcoming nuptials during a comedy gig.
“Me with my big mouth announced I was getting married! People asked where and I was like, you cant come, it’s a private wedding. We had to move the wedding from one beach to a whole other beach, but all the people from the tour showed up — 45 people in their bathing suits and towels — but they were very respectful.”
Back in March, Coles announced her engagement on Facebook. Congrats to this beauty and her new husband!
