A lot of eyes are on the Black church in America right now for unfortunate reasons. After the tragic massacre at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in downtown Charleston, South Carolina, eight Black churches in the south were burned within the span of 10 days. At a time when no one has answers and many are calling for action, we talked to prominent members in the gospel industry at the McDonald’s 365 Black Awards during Essence Festival weekend about what’s going on in the Christian community and what they want to see happen.
