While there are no official statistics on Hollywood marriage, a fool can see that the celebrity divorce rate is even more out the box than the already-high one for us regular folk. That’s why these long lasting Black power couples give us the ‘warm fuzzies’.  We salute them for keeping their love strong in an industry that makes healthy relationships almost impossible to sustain.     About time!!!!! About time we can read an article on the positive aspects of black love, marriages, and monogamy. Unfortuntately, media places a spotlight on the negative aspects of blacks and their love life (or lack thereof). Just in case the authors do not know it, what you write can build someones faith in the potential of finding true love (and maintainging it) in the African American race or it can destroy that faith…..anyway, thank you for finally posting someting positive!

    Black people need to stop believing the hype.Black marriages increased last year after a 20 year fall and this year are also expected to rise.We should not buy into the fact that we do not marry, we still marry other members of our race more than any other group and the black media must stop focusing on swirl retationships and portray black couples and black love.

    I love it. Wish we would hear more about this instead, instead of all the negative, dismissive hurtful things we do , but unfortunately stability and black love do not sell in this Godless, gossipy culture we live in. It's such a beautiful thing. Seeing these couples makes my heart rate stabilize! One more couple to add to this list, my parents! They have been stable, faithful and very much together for 43 years!
