There’s something about co-parents being able to form healthy and solid friendships that makes my heart smile. So of course, these recent photos of Lisa Bonet and ex-husband Lenny Kravitz enjoying a day out on the town gave me warm fuzzies.
The pair was spotted in Beverly Hills feeding a parking meter before grabbing lunch at Gracia Madre Restaurant. According to their daughter, Zoë, 26, they have an ideal co-parenting relationship.
“They have so much love for each other,” the “Insurgent” actress told Ocean Drive magazine of her mom, dad and stepfather Jason Momoa. “It makes things so easy that my parents are still very close. My dad and my step-dad get along really well, and my dad loves and is close with my brother [Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa] and sister [Lola Iolani Momoa].”
She adds that having a blended family where there’s genuine love between everyone is “really beautiful.”
“As long as everyone can be in the same room together, and have love for each other, it’s totally healthy.”
Kravitz and Bonet tied the knot in 1987 and ended their six-year marriage in 1993. Thankfully, their friendship, which began before they became romantic, was able to survive.
“Zoë’s mom and I now are best friends. It’s interesting because that’s how the relationship started,” the musician said during a 2013 appearance on “Oprah’s Master Class.” “When we’re all together now—her man, her kids, Zoë, me—we’re all together and we’re one big happy family.”
