Unfortunately, another celebrity couple has decided to throw in the towel. The wife of former football star Keyshawn Johnson has filed for divorce.

According to TMZ, Jennifer Conrad filed with the L.A. County Superior Court on March 3. The newlywed revealed in court documents that the two separated in February. She did not provide a specific reason for wanting out of the marriage, but cited irreconcilable differences.

Conrad is requesting joint legal custody of their two children, ages five and two, but asks for primary physical custody with Johnson getting visitation. As for finances, Conrad explained that she signed a pre-nup before the wedding.

The pair just tied the knot seven months ago during an August oceanfront wedding ceremony in Newport Beach, California. A little less than a year ago, Johnson and Conrad were involved in a domestic dispute that ended with Johnson being arrested. Johnson denied striking his partner from day one.

“I would like to apologize to my family, friends, colleagues, fans and of course, Jennifer for what happened last night at my home in Calabasas,” he explained on Twitter last year. “Though the true facts will come out as part of the legal process, I can say now without hesitation that I did not hit, grab or strike Jennifer, nor would I ever touch her or any other woman in anger. I am cooperating with the authorities and will continue to do so to ensure that this personal matter is fairly and expediently resolved.”

Charges against the ESPN analyst were dropped about a month later after the Los Angeles District Attorney looked into the incident and found it to be a big misunderstanding. Ironically, the two were reportedly arguing about marriage prior to the arrest.

Sources insist that this may not be the end for the pair and that there’s a chance the two will make up and call off the divorce.
