Ciara Says She Plans To Be “Real” On Her New Album

Quite a bit has changed since the release of Ciara’s last album. She got engaged to rapper Future, had a baby and broke off that engagement (not necessarily in that order). Now, the new mom is prepared to release a new album titled, Jackie, which she says is named after her mother.

“On this album, I think that it’s important for people to really feel me,” the 29-year-old told HipHollywood. “I titled that album after my mom because I can now see the world through her eyes.”

After the release of her first single, “I Bet,” which addresses her unfortunate split from Future, fans realized that she would be opening up a lot more on this album than she has on previous projects.

“I just feel so many different things now with life,” she continued. “As a woman, I feel a whole different confidence. I feel a need to express. I feel like us women want to express with each other. I talk to so many women and a lot of my friends about real things and I want to be able to share that through my music because I think that’s what the world wants.”

“The world needs music. The world needs, I think, realness…It’s important to me that I get to be true and express myself exactly how I want to as an artist.”

While she admits that her debut album has always been her favorite, the singer boldly proclaimed that Jackie will be her best work to date.

Are you looking forward to Cici’s upcoming release?

It’s called touring & singing live and Ciara cannot do either! Her voice is paper thin. Dancing & modeling are CiCi’s thing NOT singing! Ciara is beautiful but she doesn’t listen to advice. People in the industry told her not to put out another album, but she put out that dreadful & unforgettable Body Parts record. She was warned about Future’s baby machine factory with all those baby Mamas and now she’s one of them! The 4th one! Now she gonna do another album against the advice of industry insiders especially when the last one tanked! I think I’ll have several seats….miss me when the album comes out.

I’ve never purchased Ciara’s albums, I will purchase this one……
After everything she’s had to deal with this last year………………..
Her energy has changed and she’s matured………………………………..
This might be her big comeback………………………………………

She could’ve been the next Janet Jackson, really. But the difference between Ciara and Janet is that Ciara thinks she can actually sing. Janet knew she wasn’t that great of a singer, which is why she mainly whispered on songs and let the actual track breathe, and her performances were always killer. Ciara, call Janet, baby…. if she’ll accept your collect call.

Isnt that what she said her last album was supposed to be? More personal but just ended up being another generic R&B/pop collection that could have been made by anyone?
    I wouldnt hold my breath.

Thank you. She is having a hard time making a hit record. Ciara was on fire when her first two albums were out but I don’t know what happened. She fell off after her second one. smh L.A. Reid gave her another chance.

Not just her, but plenty of other R&B princesses fall off after their first two or three albums: Amerie, Tweet, Cassie, Kelis, Mya, Ashanti, etc.
The only acts that managed to really stick around and leave in impact on the music industry were Beyonce and Rihanna (though I’ve never really viewed Ri as “R&B”).

Can we get some “real” singing on it too?

  • Kyonda

    Absolutely!

I really think that Ciara is a very consistent artist. I would like to her something raw from her.
