There were countless rumors flying around surrounding issues that contributed to The-Dream and Christina Milian’s divorce. However, one story that hasn’t made too many rounds is how Christina’s relatives affected their relationship. During a recent episode of “Christina Milian: Turned Up,” the singer revealed that things got so bad between her family and her now ex-husband that they didn’t even show up to their wedding.
Recently, The-Dream discussed his ex-wife’s revelation and he says that he’s happy she spoke out about this.
“It was very big of her. That time was a hard time in the dark. Of course, you see something, and you think it is what it is but you never really know what’s going on,” the producer told HipHollywood. “Kudos to her for getting that out because I know that it has been on her heart to say, ‘Oh, that’s not what you thought it was.’ I tried to maintain a certain type of decency when it came to that … I felt like as a guy it was not my place to go out and say what happened at a wedding or say what happened with the family or whatever it is. [I] Just let them work through that, and I took those two, three years just kind of taking the full blame for that.”
As for Christina’s relationship with Lil Wayne, The-Dream says he has no issues with her relationship.
“People can love whoever they want to love,” he expressed.
Of course, initially, he seemed to feel that the relationship added an awkward dynamic his, Nivea’s and Christina’s families.
“I think that’s what everybody was thinking when the news broke. Everybody was thinking of that but supposedly Christina,” he said last summer. “She wasn’t thinking of that at all. I have no idea how she could not be thinking of that.”
Anyway, we’re glad everyone is on decent terms now.
