Mariah Carey And Nick Cannon Sued By Ex-Nanny
Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey’s legal struggles just keep piling up. In addition to their impending divorce and Mimi being sued by a former employee, the estranged couple is also facing a lawsuit from their ex-nanny.
According to TMZ, Simonette DaCosta, who says that she worked as a full-time nanny for the Cannons, is alleging that she was terminated for showing their twins Moroccan and Monroe too much affection. In the suit, DaCosta explains that she cared for the children when they were infants by feeding, bathing and comforting them; however, Mimi became upset over how close she was with the children.
As time went on, the plaintiff alleges that Mariah began berating her for showing the children too much love. Prior to being fired, DaCosta says that she put in plenty of overtime, adding that she sometimes worked 100-hour weeks. As a result, she’s requesting both damages and back pay. Interestingly, Mariah’s former assistant, who is also suing her, makes similar complaints in her lawsuit. Ysler Oliver alleged in her 2014 lawsuit that she frequently worked 16-hour days, but never received a dime in overtime pay.
Neither Mariah nor Nick has publicly acknowledged the suit.
