ABC’s George Stephanopoulos Has Taped An Interview With Darren Wilson
//platform.twitter.com/widgets.jsABC reporter George Stephanopoulos has just tweeted images from an exclusive interview with Darren Wilson, who learned yesterday that he was not indicted by a grand jury yesterday in the shooting death of Michael Brown. “The network plans to break in with a special report and air Tuesday, Nov. 25, on World News with David Muir and Nightline and Good Morning America the following day. The full interview will also be available on ABCNews.com,” writes The Hollywood Reporter.
Prior to the announcement, there was news floating around Twitter that a number of anchors had been in contact with Wilson in attempts to secure an interview with the soon-to-be former Ferguson officer. Among them Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon, both of whom described the move as “not out of the ordinary.”
According to fellow CNN reporter Brian Stelter, NBC’s Matt Lauer and CBS’ Scott Pelley also reached out.
We’re definitely interested in hearing more about this tragedy directly from the horse’s mouth, especially after reading Wilson’s grand jury testimony, which includes statements like this:
“And when I grabbed him [Mike Brown], the only way I can describe it is I felt like a five-year-old holding on to Hulk Hogan.”
And this, after he said the gun fired the first time: “The only way I can describe it, it [Mike Brown] looks like a demon, that’s how angry he looked. He comes back towards me again with his hands up.
“At that point, I just went like this, I tried to pull the trigger again, click, nothing happened.”
So many questions… let’s hope Stephanopoulos doesn’t throw any softballs.
