Katherine Heigl Wishes Shonda Rhimes Didn’t Have “Such A Crappy Impression” Of Her
Last month in an interview, Shonda Rhimes expressed that the success of her TV shows is partially due to her dedicated cast and crew and her “no a–holes” policy. In the same breath, she dropped a not-so-subtle jab directed at actress Katherine Heigl, who used to be a cast member on her popular series, “Grey’s Anatomy.”
“There are no Heigls in this situation,” Shonda said. “I don’t put up with bullsh-t or nasty people. I don’t have time for it.”
Katherine recently spoke with Mario Lopez on Extra and she addressed Shonda’s feelings towards her.
“For me it sucks, I am sorry that she feels that way,” the “State of Affairs” actress said. “I’m sorry she is left with such a crappy impression of me. I wish I could do something to change that. Maybe I will be able to someday.”
She also admits that she’s a big fan of “Scandal” and tunes in every week.
“I wish her nothing but greatness I have nothing negative to say about Shonda. I am a big fan of her work.”
Back when Shonda and Katherine worked together on “Grey’s Anatomy,” there were rumors that Katherine was extremely difficult to deal with on set. Not to mention that fact that Heigl withdrew her name from consideration for her role in “Grey’s” after being nominated for an Emmy.
“I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization, I withdrew my name from contention,” she said in a statement at the time. “In addition, I did not want to potentially take away an opportunity from an actress who was given such materials.”
Something tells me this tension between these two will always be there.
