“The Game” Season Finale Recap

March 30th, 2011 - By Bené Viera

We patiently waited two years for “The Game” to be resurrected. After petitions and support of millions of fans, BET brought the show back with all its original characters. Fans were uber excited, only the show wasn’t the same. The once likable characters were now unlikable; and all of their lives were filled with drama. Last night’s season finale wasn’t any different. There was no resolve with any of the characters. And the ending was predictable for some while shocking for others. Read on for all the juicy details of the season finale.

I agree a lot of drama was crammed into the 30 minutes and the writers focused so much on that they forgot the good comedic punchlines that made the show good in the first place. Bring back the old kelly/jason chemistry and malik/derwin jabs and it will be a better show! The show just seems bootleg now because of the laziness in the story-lines.

I enjoyed tuning in each week to see what happened. I can’t wait until next season. Great job guys!

This is the reason people are watch so many negative reality shows — DRAMA. This is what you black folks love. Pookey and dem and ho-in and acting like fools. When the show had more positive spins, the ratings weren't as high…that is why it was canceled from the WB. Now the number are so high that BET and all of the industry is talking about the miracle show. No miracle…just more drams. Which again, is what you black folks love. Stop fronting. This is Frankie and Keisha Coles and teh New Jersey craps and the KC and JoJo show, just in sitcom form…AND MOST PEOPLE LOVE IT. The few of you saying you won't watch it, so what, there are so many ignorant folks that love the drama that they won't even miss those of you who are pretending to stop watching it. TRUST ME…98% of you saying you son't watch it will watch it, TIVO is or at least read the recap when they rerun from the break.

I love this show with a passion and have been down from day one, but they did lose me a little bit…Tasha got more "ghetto" this season (weed, weaves, drama, and bad english) I know that is her character, but c'mon…we already have enough of the stereotypes floating around and this wasn't needed. The ending was HORRIBLE! Abortion, really? I will probably forget about how the show ended by the time next January rolls around! Hopefully they pick it back up in the fall and not wait until Jan 2012….in addition, WHO WAS THE NEW QB CUTIE! Lawd Have Mercy, I'll take him over Hosea Sanchez any day! But the show was a little choppy and quite corny at times…so hopefully next season will be better as I'm going to support one of the LAST black sitcoms we have!

they should have just picked up the show from where the last left off not pick two years later

all i got to say is…why is melanie so insecure this season?????????

  • guest

why do they play so much music while there talking that ish is getting annoying…other then that we need to support our black shows because besides this and meet the browns and two other shows black people arent on tv…and if we are we are playing the supportive friend never in the lead….so for all you people out there hating on the game go find another show where we as black people are portrayed as rich,in loving relationships,
educated and making our own money…(EXACTLY)

I agree!DJ1969 Just cuz its Black dont make right Anybody remember South Central?? Wasn't that a "Black" show. It's the quality not quantity

Kelly was a feature because of salary conflicts…she wanted too much dough. Instead of doing away with her completely they were able to pay her what she was asking but only for six eps.

I really wasn't feeling this season because it seemed like they were trying to cover too much material aka drama in too little time. They were wrapping things up too quickly and it seemed rushed. I initially thought the whole Jena / DNA drama would last most of the season but instead it was wrapped up in episode two…

I like the last comment and only thing I was upset about is the season ending so soon I wanted to see more but yes this season was different from the last three but season 4 was good also but the game is my show so I’m looking forward to the next season any many more to come so let’s keep supporting the game because we don’t want to loose this show again.

It has the same writers!!!! I don't see a problem with the show! Everything that happens keeps you wanting more and tuning in the next week, isn't that what shows are suppose to do!!!! You can't tell me that when the season finale ended it didn't make you want to know the answer to Melanie's question. So guess what, you will be tuning in next season to see what happens! If everything was resolved at the end of each show it would be stupid and pointless to watch!!

  • DJ1969

Leave it to BET to destroy something that was once good. I'm highly disappointed. The show is all over the place and they try to cram too much in 18 minutes. Where is Kelly? I find it interesting that they basically gave her a "guest" spot. Maybe she knew the show was going to be wack and didn't want to be a part of it anymore.

  • SomeOneWhoCares

You can tell the show does not have the same writer as it did on the other network. The new writer leaves too many holes in the storyline. I suggest that BET bring back the original writer of the show: There are strong storylines in the show, but the current writer is having a hard time on how to bring it altogether to where it leaves the viewers wanting more…right now everything is predictable.
