MadameNoire Featured Video

If you thought you understood Mimi Faust before now, you didn’t. The “Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta” star has certainly made some questionable decisions in her lifetime — many of which we’ve witnessed during her recent foray into reality TV — but a recent interview is putting some of her actions into perspective for us.

Sitting down with Egypt Sherrod for MadameNoire TV’s first episode of “Moment of Truth,” Mimi walked us through her childhood like we’ve never heard before. A lot of us were aware that Mimi’s mother chose scientology over her at the age of 13, but hearing Mimi describe being called “tar baby, “jigaboo,” and a “freeloader” by fellow scientoligists before being kicked out onto the streets with tears in her eyes not only made us sympathize with Mimi but also respect her ability to take care of herself — especially when she found out the man she thought was her father all along wasn’t and still chose to bounce from house to house to maintain some sense of independence.

The clip below is only the first of three parts of our sit down. Watch and tell us what you think.
