In a recent chat with VladTV, Faith Evans cleared up some different rumors about her life and about her memoir from 2008 called Keep The Faith, and a lot of it was about her marriage to the Notorious B.I.G. Let’s just say it was a very interesting chat. Here are the tidbits that stood out:

How Soon They Married After Meeting:

People tend to say seven days. I don’t know who made that up, but we actually got married less than two months after we started hanging out and talking. I’m not saying two months is a nice courting period before you marry someone, but it definitely wasn’t a week [laughs]. It was probably like six or seven weeks, something like that.

We definitely fell in love very quickly, but we were moving fast because we were young. We weren’t thinking it out like that. We didn’t know he was about to blow up like that and that my record was going to do well…neither one of us had seen success yet. We just weren’t thinking and moving fast. We knew we were in love. He said ‘I wanna marry you’ and I said ‘when?’ and he said ‘we can do it now’…within a week or two of saying that, we were married. He told me he wanted to marry me after a couple weeks of us hanging out. It seemed like a great thing to do [laughs]. I’m not mad I did, he’s certainly my first true love of my life.”

If It’s True That She Drove To The Home Of A Woman Messing With BIG When They Were Married And Fought Her:

There’s layers to that story. The funny thing is…we left from Puff’s son’s Justin’s Christening and jumped in a cab to go to this girl’s house [laughs]. Oh boy. That was my wild and crazy days. It wasn’t by myself. I didn’t go and put the schmurda on the girl or nothing. I actually had some accomplices, and we probably didn’t even really hit her that much. I think it was just the whole scaring–That was just out of line. I’m not going to sit here and say that was cool to do at all. I know that was so out of line. I’ve done so many–especially in that few year period right there, with this guy, BIG, I definitely did some things where I’m like, ‘What was I thinking?’ It was some near-death situations. Somebody could have done anything to me. What was I doing? I was just a little too bold when it came to that man and my heart. But you live and you learn, and thank God, I knew then that it was wrong and…I think knowing that and embracing it and getting past it and knowing I would never do most of those things again, but yeah, that was pretty crazy.

Their Issues With Jealousy And BIG Beating Up Her Friend:

It was sort of a tit-for-tat kind of thing. One of my friends I knew from church…he knew I knew a lot of people from church over there. But I think we had an argument about something else. And one day I was going to pick up my daughter from the babysitter in Brooklyn, around the corner from me and BIG’s place, and my friend from church who hadn’t seen me since Chyna was born, he saw us. “Oh my God let me see the baby!” So we’re just outside of the babysitter’s building talking and he’s holding Chyna, and BIG drives by with his homeboys. Because we were already pissed with each other–we had an argument before I left the house, I don’t even know what it was about–but he pulled up. He asked the dude, “Let me see Chyna.” He didn’t say many words at all. Before I knew it, his friends jumped out the car and started beating my friend up in the middle of the street in Brooklyn. I was so embarrassed and I felt horrible. BIG didn’t do that because he thought there was something going on between me and the guy, he just did it because. I was really mad. I’m like, ‘Oh my God, this is crazy. I do not need the church to be sitting up talking about this.’ [laughs] But I actually helped him. I took him back to our apartment so he could get a towel and stuff because he was bleeding. I just felt bad. I just apologized profusely to him and that was it. That was probably the last time I saw him [laughs]. Crazy times.

On That Infamous Incident Where She Attacked BIG’s Groupie In A Hotel Room:

That time I definitely did lay hands. I did. I didn’t walk in. She opened the door so I just immediately started hitting her. I already knew something was up because he gave himself away by calling me to tell me, “I’m not going to be in my room, I’m letting such and such–” C’mon kid, you know good and well that does not sound convincing. And I’m in another state so of course I had to call my homegirl and I asked her to watch my daughter. I had it all mapped out: I’m like, ‘It’s a 6 a.m. flight going to Virginia Beach, take me 45 minutes to get there. They ain’t gonna be awake and checking out.’ I had it all mapped out. I got there, got all that done, came back on the next flight, and all of that before 10 a.m. I was back in Brooklyn by 10 a.m. By 12 noon, BIG was back in Brooklyn looking for me too.

I was just going in. And looking at him every once in a while. He was sitting on the bed shaking his head. That’s when he was like, “I didn’t even f**k her!” I said, “You should have!”

On Finding Out About His Affair With Lil Kim:

I didn’t know anything about them. I didn’t even think anything about them to be quite honest. It was a shock, but it was moreso a shock because the way I even started questioning it was because she got on the radio and was speaking about his and my relationship. Which was just uncharacteristic because he didn’t really play that. So it was strange to me. If anything, he would be shutting you down: Watch your mouth, keep your mouth closed. Why would she be talking about our marriage? It was a shock, but it is what its…but by that time, we were going through it because there were a bunch of other women and a lot of other situations.
