The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” are always making news one way or another. The ladies are jetting off somewhere to celebrate Phaedra’s birthday.  And apparently, the spread of the Ebola virus has gotten the Georgia Peaches shook. Even though the virus has only been found in Dallas and New York City, Kandi and Cynthia donned facial masks as a preventative measure.

Kandi wrote: I’m not taking any chances! Thanks Dr. @jingjingharrisfor my mask! I won’t be instagramming for a while. I’ll miss you guys!

And Cynthia: Better safe than sorry.

And Carlos King, producer of RHOA and “Hollywood Divas” captioned the photo of these two like this: “Traveling with these two…clearly their scurrred of catching that danger!”

The two posted pictures of themselves in their masks on Instagram and so did RHOA producer Carlos King. But people looked at Kandi and Cynthia and called them out for their ignorance. Ebola is not airborne. But you can catch it from bodily fluids. Which I’m sure includes sweat and saliva, i.e. if someone sneezes. Even still, it’s kind of hard to catch. As one info graphic explained, the chances of a person contracting Ebola in America is reportedly, 1 in 13.3 million.

I understand and believe that contracting ebola might be slim. But as someone who recently sat next to a man who coughed and sneezed, without covering his mouth, for our entire hour and half flight, I can certainly understand them wanting to cover their faces. I used my hoodie to cover my nose and mouth, with no shame. I can’t afford to catch anything these days. With all the germs that are transferred in airports and on airplanes, even if they’re not protecting themselves from ebola, dodging the common cold is not too bad either.

What do you think about Kandi and Cynthia wearing face masks?
