Keyshia Cole has always been an open book when it comes to sharing details on the ups and downs of her personal life. She’s literally been singing about love gone wrong since her first album, The Way It Is, and dealt with family drama front and center on reality TV. But for a time it seemed like she had found her happily ever after when she married NBA player Daniel “Boobie” Gibson. Unfortunately, that relationship is not working out (she claims he cheated, he unconvincingly says he didn’t) and Cole has moved on rather quickly, allegedly rebounding with (and fighting over) Bryan “Birdman” Williams. But on her upcoming sixth studio album, Point of No Return, Cole has a song called “Remember (Part 2)” that speaks on the pain she feels over the state of her marriage. In the song she talks about her family trying to encourage her to make things work with Gibson, and why Cole decided to move on, wondering if her man even remembered all the things he promised her when things were good between them.

I just can’t take no more

It’s not meant to be…but before I leave I gotta tell you

And I know we got a lot of things on the line

Like I said, it don’t seem right

Things ain’t weighing out.

Things ain’t adding up, baby

I don’t know if I even miss you

Don’t wanna kiss you

How can you love somebody and everything just changes?

I don’t even know if you remember all the things that you told me.

We were hoping Cole and Gibson would be able to work things out, but it looks like she’s already out the door…

Definitely a sad song, and the use of a choir in the background really helps to drive the heartbreak home. Check out the song for yourself below and be sure to pick up Cole’s new album, Point of No Return, on October 7.
