This week has been pretty interesting for “Love & Hip Hop” star Tahiry Jose. A couple of days ago, the former video vixen made headlines after she was attacked backstage during a show at New York Fashion Week. It’s now being reported that she’s facing a major lawsuit.
According to DNA Info New York, two patrons of Tahiry’s now-closed Washington Heights nightclub, Suite 135, are saying that they were injured on March 31 after a fight broke out at the venue. Edward Gaskin, 22, claims that he was shot in the hand and his cousin Shameeka Green, 27, is claiming that she was trampled by other partygoers who were trying to get out of dodge. In their lawsuit, they claim that Tahiry and 5 Points Security demonstrated negligence when they allowed an armed guest admission into Suite 135.
“This was a total failure on the part of the owners and operators of this club,” the victims’ lawyer, Philip Monier, said.
“They are still being treated by their doctors,” Monier added. “It’s been about six months and they are still injured. It’s been difficult. He has a big bullet hole though his hand.”
It is also being reported that this was not the first time that a guest brought a gun to the venue. In fact, one complaint alleges that Suite 135 owners knew “the likelihood that a guest at the nightclub would bring a gun.”
Following the March shooting a Suite 135 manager revealed that the club’s card scanner was broken on the night of the shooting and that they did not have the wand generally used by bouncers to scan for metal objects.
It is believed that the gun was smuggled into the venue by a woman who hid it in the lining of her purse. So far, no arrests have been made.
