Whenever you say Dave Hollister’s name, you’re sure to hear someone yell back in response, “I love him!” Dave was the man back in the 90s as one fourth of Blackstreet and when he went on to pursue a solo career, his success only escalated. Since his 2008 album “Witness Protection,” though, the man who now calls himself “the ghetto pastor” has been largely underground. Luckily for fans, he’s back with a new album set to drop September 30 called “Spend the Night.”

When Dave came by the office to talk about his new project, he also revealed how he was dangerously close to losing himself in the R&B industry and how he almost literally lost his life in a terrible car crash in 2004. Dave also talked about refusing to define himself as a secular or gospel artist and words of wisdom he gained from Mase. Check out all that and more in the video above.
