Raven Reveals Her Natural Do

Look who’s letting her natural curls show. Raven, who’s normally seen in flowing tresses, debuted her short fro at a recent Disney’s Dreamers Academy event in Orlando. (With Mickey in tow.)

We’ll have to wait and see if this is a permanent transition or if Raven just wanted to let her scalp breathe before you goes back to the remy.

    beauty. STOP letting the main stream media tell you that GOD made a mistake with us .we are GOD'S

    Favors Wanda Sykes a bit in this pic. Oprah went natural a couple of years ago (her hair was long and wavy in the pics they showed) unless she’s relaxing again. I’m sure there’s more natural sistas in Hollywood than we realize but they cover it up with weaves, flat irons or a good press. I wonder who’ll go all natural next.

    I would not say it is" news" but after years of seeing straight hair as what most people consider the standard of beauty because that is what we have been shown in the media, TV, publications etc., So, it is "news" when a black woman famous or not decides that she wants to wear her natural, unstraightened hair. Yes, others wear weaves but the natural state of their hair is already straight. So adding straight to straight isn't a big deal BUT when you are Black and your natural state is curly/kinky or lets just say not straight, then you straighten your curly/kinky to add a weave that is straight or wear a lace front. When Black women wear their own hair in its natural state they are saying they do not need to buy into what others feel is beautiful. Curly Indian hair is different that most curly black hair . . . if you are a black woman then you know the history and the issues of hair in our culture . . . and if you are a black woman and are asking or making statements like that then you are very unaware . . . hmmm justathought

      okay. and not every single black woman has kinky hair and every single white woman/mexican woman has straight hair. So if you step outside the box there are PLENTY of women that straighten their hair every single day. Same reason why white/mexican/indian women get perms. Soooo it shouldnt' be news. it has always been interesting to me that it is news because other races have just as much "alterations" to their hair as many blk women. so i don't know if you do not be around a lot of minorities and majorities besides black people but there are very different women in this world and last time i checked… all black women don't look alike and neither does the Mexican/Indian/White women

    Okay, so Ive always wondered why is it such news when blk women wear their hair “natural?” there are plenty of other races that have hair that is complex or curly. Egyptians, Indians, and even white people wear weaves and lace fronts and pay WAY more than the average blk woman. These weaves cost about 2400-2700 and they cost 1100 to just put in. So as for raven, her hair has been out before… Just like other blk women. Blk women r not the only ones to get relaxers and the same type of harsh materials n relaxers are in perms to…

She looks cute and she doesn't need that lace front or tracks or whatever it was . . . if more black women who are in the public's eye begin to embrace their natural hair, it would be awesome! It would show young girls that they do not need long flowing hair to "be beautiful." Women can take the $ they have been spending on tracks and weaves and pay a bill! or buy their child a book! Will this be an aha moment for black women in america? My aha moment came 8 years ago; i never wore a weave or anything but I did wear my hair straight, permed which damaged my hair. Now I love my twists and twist outs. Who will be next? Oprah , now that would be something.
