Update: Remy Ma Prison Release Today, Initially Postponed Because Of Angie Martinez Interview?
Update: According to Miss. Info Remy Ma was released from prison today at 3 pm. Only her husband Papoose came to pick her up to avoid any further complications. Because yesterday, with a whole entourage waiting outside for her release, they didn’t want a repeat of yesterday. But they stayed close by just in case the prison cleared up the phone violation. When they came to pick her up this time, there were no camera, crowds or a whole bunch of cars.
Yesterday, we told you all that Remy Ma’s highly anticipated prison release had been postponed due to a disciplinary issue involving the Bronx rapper on July 21. Ironically, the incident happened to occur the very same day of the 34-year-old mom’s interview with Angie Martinez. According to MTV News, this may not be a coincidence.
An explanation from a representative on behalf of the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility revealed that the interview may have had a lot to do with why her release was pushed back.
“Remy Smith’s tentative release date of July 31 was postponed due to a misbehavior report involving a July 21 incident for phone violations, particularly third party calling,” said Linda Foglia, a public information officer at the facility.
As it turns out, each inmate has a list of fifteen phone numbers that they have been approved to call. However, an issue is presented if they call one of those fifteen listed numbers and that person forwards the call to someone else. It’s considered a violation. It hasn’t been confirmed whether or not said violation occurred to make the Angie interview happen, but we wouldn’t be surprised to hear that this was the case.
So far, it’s unclear when Remy will be released, but Foglia says they’re hoping to resolve the issue soon.
“We expect to resolve that misbehavior report sometime in the next week or so.”
We will continue to keep you posted as this story develops.
