We’re not sure what’s up with folks wanting to harm ABC’s on-air personalities, but another “Good Morning America” host has been targeted by a deranged stalker.
According to PageSix, Troy Warren, 43, has been accused of showing up to GMA’s Times Square studio and making serious threats against veteran anchor Robin Roberts. Officers say that Warren attempted to go after Roberts at least eight times and that even threatened to hit her in the face.
“When I see her I’m going to punch her in the face,” he reportedly told Michael Centrella, the security director of “Good Morning America” at 8 am June 24th.
Warren has since been arrested and is being held on $3,000 bond.
“Due to the defendant’s above described conduct Ms Robin Roberts fears for her physical safety and well-being,” court documents revealed.
It’s currently unclear why Warren chose to target Roberts, of all people, but we’re guessing that he may be suffering from some mental issues. Earlier this month, a man showed up to the very same studio with a knife and threatened to harm GMA host Michael Strahan.
“I was there to kill Michael Strahan,” Andre Johnson, 25, reportedly said after being taken into police custody.
We’re glad Robin is okay.
