If you’re a black girl with curves be glad for them. There are women out there trying to get like you…and not just around the way girls, supermodels. Don’t believe me, Chanel Iman recently said she’s trying to eat to gain weight.

The 5-foot-9 Victoria’s Secret model has been eating steaks and mashed potatoes to gain weight. And apparently her efforts have paid off, she told US Magazine she gained 13 pounds.

“I’m a big believer in having hips, butt and thighs!”

Even though she appreciates thickness it’s not so easy to come by for her.  “It’s very difficult for me because I’m naturally skinny,” she said. “I have to put on a lot of weight and work out to gain muscle. I love curves and being Hot.”

Have you ever tried to gain weight? What for?

Appreciating the time and energy you put into your website and detailed information you provide. It’s nice to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same unwanted rehashed material. Fantastic read! I’ve saved your site and I’m adding your RSS feeds to my Google account.

I love this girl. She really represents black women well as a Victoria Secret Model. Best since Tyra in my opinion.
(Although Emanuela De Paula has a special place in my heart)

I'm really glad this was posted. I too am a skinny woman, and it can be tough to deal with. I can eat a whole pizza, two whoppers, and so on, and not gain a pound. I've always heard of women trying to lose weight, but I just wanted to gain it! People need to understand that it's like being on the opposite side of the spectrum. If you're caucasian, curves are the problem and everyone wants to be skinny. I've actually had white men say that if I were white, I'd be perfect, seriously. I happen to be african american and in a culture where skinny is considered wrong or unhealthy. Our race embraces vouluptuous women. Most black men are in love with big butts, breasts, and curves. Luckily I embrace my small curves and so does my husband (who happens to be black). But still, it took me a while to get there. To walk around where curvy women are all you see, only to look like you are 13! It's tough but I've come to terms and I hope any other women out there who have trouble gaining weight are embracing it as well. I'm not Beyonce, but I'm not supposed to be. I'll be rocking my small curves like her though! :)

I can eat collards and corn bread all day and still won’t get a butt. Sigh…oh well.
