Kim’s Singing Stunt May Offend Her Black Fans

Kim Kardashian is every where. So it didn’t come as much of a surprise when we learned she was going to start singing. Of course we knew it was probably a bad idea but one writer at the Grio said we had no idea how truly bad it could be. Apparently the song is a monotone mess! The Dream produced the track so of course there’s autotune to soften the blow, but apparently it still leaves a scar. Kardashian has said her singing stint it was just supposed to be a fun experience and the money from the song would be donated to charity. Regardless, the Grio writer says Kim’s newest venture may alienate the black community that has supported her.

If Kim is in fact exploring a music career, this song has “no” written all over it, and could possibly damage her brand, especially with black people. Though we all may not love her, she’s been generally accepted as friend to black people with the following parameters: we, black people, will somewhat willingly accept your presence in pop culture if you, Kim Kardashian, understand that your greatest contribution is your curvy figure and crazy family. Do not purport to have any sort of talent or interesting qualities. Be our dark-haired Jessica Simpson and we will support you with an eye-roll and a hug.

    When did she become a friend to black people? Just because she sleeps with black men and hang around black women in Hollywood doesn't make her a friend to all black people. Most black people are not checking for her. Go away to whoever wrote this garbage.

    The premise of this article is ridiculous–Kim K's music career is supposed to be offensive to her black fans? Why, because her white fans don't have ears or something? Why is the author acting like Kim is alone as a famous for nothing celebrity who tries her hand at a singing career? Heidi Montag anyone? This is a nonstory.     Fans? Uhh… folks actually applaud her dizzling Ray J on cam, dating R.Bush, and kicking it? I mean being a "socialite." Oh yeah, and she's pretty. I honestly don't know what her or her sisters do, so she didn't offend me. I didn't listen to the song nor watch the show.
