“Comb Blue Ivy’s Hair” And 14 Other Ridiculous Celebrity Petitions
The petition for the Carters to comb Blue Ivy’s hair has been making news rounds since last month. But that’s not the only out-there complaint that fans have lobbed at their least-favorite stars. From getting Tyler Perry to stop making movies to getting Ciara to stop singing, these are the most ridiculous celebrity petitions that have ever been on file.Image Source: Tumblr.com
“Stop Ciara From Singing”
Ciara and her fans have had a rocky relationship for a while now, but this petition to get Ciara to stop singing seems over the top:
I just signed the following petition addressed to: 2012 STOP CIARA FROM MAKING MUSIC CAMPAIGN.
YOU TIRED OF BACK BENDS? SIGN!
YOU TIRED OF FLOPS? SIGN!
YOU TIRED OF CORNROWS? SIGN!
YOU TIRED OF THIN ASHY VOCALS? SIGN!
“Change The National Anthem to ‘Ignition'”
This sounds more like a “Chappelle Show” skit about black people taking over the white house than an actual petition, but it was 100% real.
“Keep Beyonce from Kimye’s Wedding”
Is there anything that Beyonce fans won’t do for her? One started a petition to keep her from being “forced to go and sit through that torture while surrounded by the Kardashian pigs.” The petition got so much traction in the blogosphere that it’s author finally said it was a joke. Bey didn’t go though…
“Get D.L. Hughley to Shut Up”
After Columbus Short’s wife charged him with domestic violence, DL Hughley took to his radio show to encourage all domestic violence and rape victims to “shut the f-ck up” lest they mess up their pay day with their rich spouses. Closing with “You know what kind of dude you picked. Stop it.”
D.L. apologized for his comments, but not before the petition against him garnered 3,000 signatures and the loss of more than a few fans.
This Petition to Get Out of Your Veirzon Contract
Most phone carriers are making their way to the contract-less side of the street. But these Verizon customers decided they weren’t going to wait anymore (probably as they looked at last months bill). And they weren’t alone. Over 160,000 unhappy Verizon customers signed it, but it wasn’t enough to get them to let their customers go.
“No More Rap Music”
Earlier this year, someone petitioned all of the music executives to stop making rap music because it generates profits for white people by degrading black people.
“Replace Halle Berry with Lupita Nyong’o”
Apparently there are a lot of X-Men fans who have no love for Halle Berry. Have you seen the new X-Men movie, yet? We didn’t think Halle was that bad — for the minute or so she was in it. Do you love Halle as Storm? Or should she be replaced?
“Beyonce, Please Don’t Sing In Israel”
While lots of celebrities are getting in trouble for their support of Palestine, Beyonce came under fire earlier this year for agreeing to perform a concert in the segregated portion of Israel that bans Palestinians.
“No More From Mona Scott”
When Mona Scott Young set her sites on black sororities for her next reality show “Sorority Sisters,” Greeks from around the country banded together to start a petition in protest. The petition gained over 4,000 signatures and a few days later, the “Sorority Sisters” trailer was pulled from the ‘net.
“Comb Blue Ivy’s Hair”
This one is such a shame, you’ll just have to read it yourself.
“Deport Justin Bieber”
We knew that Justin Bieber had lost a few fans, but this petition to have him deported back to Canada is the most shade we’ve seen a celebrity receive in a long time.
“Put Black People In the Cast of ‘Gods of Egypt'”
Danish actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Horus? Scottish actor Gerard Butler as Set? Australian actor Geoffrey Rush as Ra? Movie buffs said “nah” with a petition against “The Gods of Egypt’s” all white cast. It already has around 20,000 signatures but there’s been no re-casting call from Hollywood yet.
“More “Scandal” Episodes”
Nobody likes it when “Scandal” goes on hiatus. This coalition of “Scandal’s” black fans decided to take matters into their own hands by demanding no more breaks in “Scandal’s” lineup and more shows each season. Over 2,000 people signed it before it petered out, ignored by network execs.
“Get Tyler Perry To Stop Making Movies”
Tyler Perry’s movies have rubbed people the wrong way for a long while. And back in 2012, petitioners turned to Oprah’s OWN network to try to get Tyler Perry’s two new shows taken off of her network.
Conrad Murray’s Petition to Get His Medical License Back
We can’t blame a man for fighting for his job. But would you get treated by the man who was accused of killing Michael Jackson?
