Back Up Off Me: Celebs Who Slapped Fans
Celebrities may be public figures but that doesn’t mean they’re always in a good mood, especially when they’re approached in the wrong way. These stars reacted with their hands and let their real feelings be known.WENN
Country fans just don’t know how to take a hint. Tim McGraw was recently onstage in Atlanta performing when one grabby female fan wouldn’t leave him alone. McGraw was in the middle of singing “Truck Yeah” when a woman slapped him twice, once on the knee and the other close to his groin area. McGraw had enough and retaliated with a slap of his own. “Tim was singing out in the audience and someone firmly grabbed onto his leg and wouldn’t let go as he was moving through the crowd,” his rep said of the incident. “He instinctively swatted to try to keep them from ripping his jeans (which they succeeded at doing!) and so he could get to more fans who could slap hands with him before the end of the show.”

A$AP Rocky wants to be known for his fashion sense just as much as he wants to be known for his music, so the rapper didn’t take too kindly to a fan trying to steal his hat. While in Australia, the “Wild For The Night” rapper was enjoying performing onstage until one fan tried to take his hat. The Harlem rapper retaliated by introducing his five fingers to the eager female fan’s face. Then he wagged his finger of disapproval in her face.
Pitbull released his debut album back in 2004 and since then he’s gone on to sell millions of albums worldwide. The Miami rapper has also inked numerous endorsement deals so he’s made more than his fair share of money. Perhaps that’s why he was so offended when cash was thrown in his face back in 2009 during a performance in Colorado. When a guy in the crowd started throwing money at the women in the audience Pitbull pulled him on stage and the guy started throwing money in the Spanish rapper’s face. Pitbull responded by popping the guy in the face with his fist.
Most people know about her sassy attitude, but that didn’t stop one fan from getting a little too grabby with this Bajan singer. Last year while performing in Birmingham, England Rihanna went into the crowd to greet some members of the audience. When one fan refused to let go of her hand, the “We Found Love” singer turned around and popped her over the head with the microphone. The over zealous fan let go then.
Amy Winehouse wasn’t that big in stature but you still didn’t want to be on her bad side. The pint-sized star was performing her hit song “Rehab” in Glastonbury a few years ago when a male fan got a little too close for comfort. The London songstress was performing in the press pit when she had to lay hands on the fan. Winehouse first elbowed him then punched him in the face and glared back at her security team. They moved forward and removed him from the pit.
Katt Williams made us laugh with his high-pitched voice and crazy stories. The comedian reached the height of his career several years ago and since then he’s been making headlines for all of the wrong reasons. A couple years ago, Williams was just minding his own business while shopping in Target when he got into a confrontation with one of the employees. Williams insisted the man, who was white, hurled a racial slur at him. Instead of getting into a war of words with him, the comedian hauled off and slapped the employee. He has since been fired for the incident.
Who knew that Wale was a big wrestling fan? Once, the “Bad’ rapper was in the audience watching the matches at a “Raw” event in Washington D.C., enjoying the evening like everyone else when a fan seated behind him started taunting him. Eventually he had enough and Wale got up to confront the heckler. He punched the taunter dead in the face before security broke the fight up. Wale returned to his seat and continued to eat his popcorn.

Before he became famous as a rapper Action Bronson worked as a culinary chef. His fans know about his affinity for a good meal but they’ve learned the Queens native doesn’t play around either. One fan found out firsthand during a show in North Carolina. Bronson was holding court on the stage when one zealous fan jumped up and joined him. Before his security detail had a chance to react, Bronson hit the dude with a clothesline move straight out of a WWE textbook. The fan went flying and the show continued.
Yelawolf does not like to share the stage with anybody. Not even eager fans that rush the stage from the crowd. While performing at an industry party earlier last year, a drunk fan jumped on the stage and attempted to dive in the crowd. But he got a little too close to the Alabama rapper and got jabbed in the face as a result. This isn’t the first time Yelawolf had to lay hands on someone while performing. In 2012 while in California, another fan rushed the stage and the “Box Chevy” rapper punched the guy before his security had a chance to get involved.
Back in 2007 Akon was on the stage when a fan in the crowd threw something at him. Instead of retaliating right away, the “Locked Up” signer invited him on stage. Security went out to seek the fan and when he was brought forward Akon pulled him onto his shoulders, then tossed him into the crowd, allegedly injuring another fan. Although he insisted the stunt was planned ahead of time, Akon ended up pleading guilty to harassment and was sentenced to 65 hours of community service and a $250 fine.
Artists performing on stage may be used to having some things thrown at them while performing on stage but a wallet? Rapper Kid Cudi was out in Vancouver, Canada when someone threw his wallet at the “Day and Night” rapper. So what did Kid Cudi do? He jumped off stage, reached over the barricade and punched the dude in the face. A year later Cudi made amends with that very same fan he punched by bringing him out onstage at the Sasquatch Music Festival.
Unfortunately Gucci Mane is known more for his legal troubles than his music. Earlier last year while hanging out at an Atlanta nightclub, the “Trap House” rapper was approached by a fan seeking an autograph. Not in a very friendly mood, Gucci responded by popping him over the head with a champagne bottle causing a severe laceration. Two nights later his mood was no better. The 34-year-old rapper punched a fan in the face while hanging out in Philadelphia. The Atlanta rapper is currently working out a plea deal after being found guilty of gun possession.
Rocker Henry Rollins has played the frontman for one rock band or another since the 80’s. So he is definitely not a pushover when it comes to fans being a little too rowdy. Rollins was holding court on the stage when he decided to play a game of keep away with a member in the audience. The Black Flag frontman waved the microphone in one guy’s face several times but when he was finally able to grab the mic, Rollins didn’t approve. He wailed on the fan with a series of blows to the face.
