For some women, heartbreak serves as a remarkable career motivator. It appears that this may be the case with Angie Stone, who recently quit TV One’s “R&B Divas: Atlanta” after she suspected that her longtime boyfriend, Ashanti Graves, was cheating with a member of the show’s production crew. But not to worry, the soul singer’s publicist says that she doesn’t plan on sitting around pining over Ashanti and the alleged betrayal. She’ll be utilizing her energy for more productive purposes.
Kali Bowyer tells Mara The Hip Hop Socialite that Angie is in the process of getting her new book published.
“Angie and her new team are currently reading over the three publishing deals on the table for a book she has worked on for quite sometime called ‘Life in the Shadows of a Sex Symbol,’” said Kali.
As it turns out, the book has been three years in the making for Angie. Naturally, judging by the title, most would assume that the book is about Angie’s rocky relationship with D’Angelo, but Kali says that the title is more symbolic than anything and serves as a “a metaphor for life in the industry; the industry is the pimp, and we’re all hoes.”
According to Kali, Angie is also reviewing a few TV deals and preparing for an upcoming appearance on Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Atlanta.” No word yet on what she’ll be doing on the show though.
