After the misleading mess that has surrounded the separation between Mase and his wife Twyla Betha  for almost a year, TMZ is reporting that the couple are officially divorced.

The couple experienced some criticism earlier this year after reports revealed they had filed separation papers two years ago despite building a congregation together at the time and penning a marriage counseling book together under the guise of a happy union.

Initially both sides requested physical custody of their 2 kids. Mase will not have physical custody of the couple’s children, but has been ordered to pay $6000 in spousal and child support. Mase received “reasonable visitation” for his children of up to three hours a day as long as he gives 12-hours’ notice. Twyla must return all of Mase’s musical equipment which should be helpful as the rapper is set to release his fourth album Now We Even this summer.

Mase was recently rumored to be involved with “Basketball Wives LA” Star Malayasia Pargo who also recently filed for divorce from her husband, Jannero Pargo. Pargo immediately denied the rumors.

We’re just glad this mess is over and we hope the pair can move on a rebuild their lives and a healthy way and continue to preach the word with some honesty.

Marriages end. It happens. Just because they are part of a congregation does not mean that they do not have a right to privacy…

“The couple experienced some criticism earlier this year after reports revealed they had filed separation papers two years ago despite building a congregation together at the time and penning a marriage counseling book together under the guise of a happy union. ”

So even though they were separated, Mase and his ex-wife still tried to put up a front that were a happily married couple and even tried to give marital advice to other couples amid their own problems. This just screams hypocrisy and greatly diminishes their credibility and reputation to lead people through God’s teaching. A man of the cloth should have been honest about the situation and address the matter with his congregation openly to avoid any complications that may plague the ministry down the line. I wish them well and I hope things work out amicably, especially given there are children involved.

The issue that I have is once they decided to separate and or file for divorce because they were giving martial advice and selling a book only then should they have told their congregation because to continue to lead the congregation in believing they were this happy married couple is nothing but foolishness. You have to beware of people who are double minded they are unstable and do not speak the truth. James 1:8. I have no issue with them divorcing that’s not the issue that’s between them. They didn’t need to go into detail as to why they were separating or divorcing, but the congregation should have been told especially since they were giving advice on marriage and writing a book on it. I don’t know maybe the book has a chapter on divorcing or separating.
