Dame Dash Comments On Rumors About Jay Z Being Inappropriate With His “Wife,” Rachel Roy
Catergate has come and gone, but the aftermath still lingers. Although things seem to be calming down on the Carter-Knowles home front, Jay and Bey’s blaring absence from Kanye West’s wedding seemed to serve as another red flag that things are not going as well as the family would like us to believe. Naturally, there are plenty of theories floating around as to why the couple pulled a no-show, but one particular theory leads right back to Catergate’s front door step. According to E!, insiders are stating that the hip hop power couple bailed on the ceremony to avoid being in the presence of Rachel Roy.
“Given Kim and Kanye’s list of celeb friends, surprisingly, they didn’t invite that many,” the source claimed. “They wanted it to be a small and intimate wedding. Jay Z and Beyoncé were invited but didn’t come, seemingly to avoid drama from Rachel Roy who was going. In the end, the wedding was full of love and super intimate.”
As you may recall, it was said that Rachel Roy played a role in Solange and Jay Z’s blowout fight the night of the Met Gala. Some even believe that it was sparked by Jay behaving inappropriately towards Rachel, who is the ex-wife of his former business partner, Damon Dash. Interestingly, Dame recently weighed in on the entire scandal and he doesn’t seem too convinced that Jay would try to move in on his “wife.”
“If he was tryna holla at my wife though, that’s kinda f*cked up. [laughs] But I don’t think he was doing that. That would be bad,” he told Hip Hop Motivation. “That would be dark. That means he really has some resentment but I would hope that that wouldn’t be the case.”
As for what he thought about the fight, Dame says it was hilarious.
“I thought it was funny because Jay is the kind of guy you don’t see him move like that that much. And when he does move, if it’s not that cool looking, then it’s going to be kicks. Also I feel like nobody teases Jay but me for some reason. It’s just the first time I’ve seen people freely expressing themselves.”
“I don’t think he should mad about it,” Dame continued. “I think he should be laughing. That sh*t was funny. Everybody fights. Girls done spit on me before but I be a little more ‘You better chill out.’ The shit is funny.’ Jay has to worry about perception because corporate people pay him. He really has to play that game. I thought what was ironic about it was people got to see how he played sh*t off. And how something crazy can happen and four seconds later when it’s cameras on they act like nothing is going on. I thought that was interesting to see that and how good he is at it. If people don’t like what he’s doing, he won’t get that corporate check.”
