In a perfect world, “Love & Hip Hop” stars Erica Jean and Saigon would be living in co-parenting harmony since their dramatic appearance on “Iyanla: Fix My Life.” But unfortunately, Erica says this couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, she reveals that things have worsened since their OWN appearance.

“I think that it made it worse, us going on the show,” she recently confessed to The Jasmine Brand. “The reason I went on the show was to get help for co-parenting with the father of my child and that I didn’t get help in. It really just made the situation extremely worse. Iyanla, she’s definitely hard and what she says isn’t completely true. I think it was one-sided and I felt like it was kind of an attack instead of helping me and that’s just how I got it.”

According to Erica, the show may not have been the only reason that they aren’t making progress in their co-parenting endeavors. She adds that Saigon may also be upset because she recently took him to court for child support.

“After the show, I took him to court. So I think he was very upset about that. Saigon is always welcome to see his child, he just doesn’t want to. He’s not involved. He hasn’t seen our son since the show and that was in January and his excuse to not see his son is because I’m just some horrible person that he doesn’t want to be around.”

The reality star also felt that there were many things that were taken out of context during her appearance on ‘FML.’ She says that she reached out to Iyanla to help them become better parents, but Iyanla and OWN producers took the show in a different direction.

“I thought that maybe that could somehow help us better to communicate and co-parent,” she expressed. “I understand that Iyanla was trying to help me in certain situations but a lot of things I think was inappropriate like bringing up plastic surgery, just things that didn’t have anything to do with me and Saigon’s relationship or me being a good mother.”

“I think the experience was the opposite of what I thought it would be,” she continued. “I was the one that kind of wanted help from Iyanla because of Saigon’s deal. The verbal abuse and the things I was enduring in our relationship.”
