Daley Picks 3 Interim Aldermen
(Chicago Tribune) — Mayor Richard Daley on Wednesday named three interim aldermen, including two who are aldermanic candidates in the February municipal elections. Daley named Timothy Cullerton, 61, son of former 38th Ward alderman Thomas Cullerton, to serve as interim alderman in the Northwest Side ward. Timothy Cullerton, a former deputy commissioner in the city Building Department, is on the ballot to seek a full term as alderman in February. P.J. Cullerton, Timothy Cullerton’s sister, is the 38th Ward Democratic committeeman. The mayor also appointed Jason Ervin, 36, to finish Ed Smith’s term in the 28th Ward, which is centered aroundGarfield Park on the West Side. Smith, the ward committeeman, has endorsed Ervin to succeed him with a full term in the February municipal election.
