‘We Feel It’s Okay To Let People In:’ Tammy Rivera Says Her Relationship Is ‘Stable’ Enough For Reality TV
Last night, “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” viewers were introduced to Waka Flocka’s better half, Tammy Rivera. Although she’s a new face to fans of the popular franchise, she’s no stranger to VH1 producers, as they’ve been trying to cast her in the series since season one.
“I was approached the first season,” she recently told Sister 2 Sister. But she declined their initial offer, as she felt the timing was off.
“I wasn’t interested. It just wasn’t the right time in my life.”
After some time passed, Tammy says Wacka’s mom, Deb Antney, who has made quite a few appearances on the show in the past, convinced the couple to sign up. Apparently a few years away from the spotlight was just what their relationship needed to become solid enough to endure reality TV.
“It’s just a point right now in my life where for the first time with my fiancé I feel stable. I feel grounded. I feel blessed, and he’s more comfortable in our relationship,” Tammy explained. “It’s just a time right now where we feel like it’s okay to let people in. We’re not perfect, but I’m ready.”
According to Tammy, reality TV has nothing on the drama that they’ve already been through, so she’s not too worried about the rumored reality television curse that seems to be destroying celebrity relationships one by one.
“We’ve been through hell and high water, so I doubt if this TV show can even compare to half the stuff I’ve been through with this man,” Tammy stated confidently. “This right here, this is small peanuts for us.”
