11. Pour out a little liquor.

Actually some of you need to get rid of the whole bottle.  It’s natural to want a couple cocktails to lighten the mood and allow you to escape your grief for a few hours. But it’s all too easy for alcohol to turn into hurt feelings and handcuffs, especially for those of us who can’t process emotion in a healthy way. If you know liquor turns you into a resentful bitter mess, stay sober. The last thing the grieving family needs to worry about is making a police report.
