9. Get a babysitter.

Death and funerals can be confusing and even scary for kids, so that might be reason enough to let them sit them out at home. But also, your grieving family doesn’t want to worry about Junior screaming at the top of his lungs throughout the service. Remove a cranky child who is causing a scene or opt to leave them home so people can grieve in peace.
