But don’t think these lovely ladies don’t have a little help in the beauty department. From expensive spa treatments to the latest in anti-aging technology, Hollywood starlets spare no expense in staying on top of the looks game. So as summer approaches, and Hollywood’s hottest start showing of their goods more than usual, we take a look at some of these off-the-wall beauty regimes.

All that Glitters is Gold

Bar Rafaeli is the latest celebrity to try her hand at a gold facial. Combining caviar ampule, honey, sea buckthorn and gold, this luxe facial reportedly combats aging and brightens skin. Surprisingly, however, this treatment won’t break the bank: Gold facials can go for less than $200. Not a steep price to pay to look even half as amazing as Bar.

Bloody Good

Bar Rafaeli makes her second appearance on our list, alongside Kim Kardashian as two of the vampire facial’s celebrity clients. The procedure, which involves drawing blood from the client and re-injecting it under the skin is definitely on the cringe-worthy side, but is supposed to help fend off aging. Small price to pay for a youthful glow? Perhaps.

Feeding Frenzy

The Kardashian clan is one of the fish pedicure’s best-known celebrity clients. Using garra rufa fish, this treatment involves the fish nibbling off dead skin cells as the client soaks his or her feet. Say goodbye to pumice stones if these little critters do the trick!

Old Time Remedy

The ancient Chinese practice of cupping has become a favorite among some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow and Victoria Beckham all subscribe to cupping, which involves the use of the treatment’s namesake on various parts of the body to help with circulation, pain and detoxification of the body. While clients are left with unsightly little circles along the treated areas, it’s all worth ending some aches and pains.

Caviar Dreams

Nothing says rich and famous quite like caviar. So it should come as little surprise that caviar facials are a favorite among Hollywood’s elite. Angelina Jolie took her love of caviar to the next level, undergoing an extensive treatment that involved her being wrapped in bandages so her body would sweat out toxins before she was slathered with a caviar-based cream. The cream is said to promote firmer, tighter skin.

Evian Intrigue

Serena Williams got in on the outlandish celebrity spa treatments back in 2005 with the $5000 Evian Experience. The luxe spa treatment available at Miami’s Hotel Voctor (for those staying in the $6000-a-night penthouse suite), involves a bath in 1000 liters of Evian spring water and colorful Gerber daisies. No idea what benefit a bath of Evian water would actually provide, but for 5K we have to imagine its something special.

Leech Lovin’

One of the most uncomfortable sounding celebrity indulgences is a favorite of the painfully beautiful Demi Moore. She is one of Hollywood’s biggest proponents of leech therapy, telling David Letterman: “It detoxifies your blood. And they have a little enzyme that when they’re biting down on you, gets released into your blood and generally you bleed for quite a bit. And your health is optimized. It detoxified the blood and I’m feeling detoxified right now.” Demi is stunning, but not sure we’d ever go to those extremes to up our beauty game.

Snakebitten

Gwyneth Paltrow is certainly not one to turn down a chance at trying a new, unconventional beauty treatment so when she decided to try her hand at the snake facial, it seemed par for the course. The treatment involves the use of a synthetic venom which produces a paralyzing effect similar to a snake bite. Who needs botox?

Baby-faced

Eva Longoria is drop-dead gorgeous, but if the price of that beauty is a placenta facial, we might have to stick with what we’re working with. Known to have a restorative effect on skin, creams used in the placental facial contain ingredients that mimic the nutrients found in the human placenta.

X-Rated Wonder

Heather Locklear swears by sp*rm facials. That is really all we have to say on the matter.

Rip it Good

Lady Gaga prides herself on being different and going where few celebrities have gone before. And it’s nice to see that spirit extends into her beauty regime as well. Rather than using traditional baby wipes or makeup removers, the singer opts for Sellotape. Yes, that’s right, she rips off her makeup. Only Gaga.

Royal Pains

Bee sting facials sound like the most horrifying beauty treatment known to man. But it is a favorite for Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton. This royal beauty helps maintain her incredible looks through a special mask made of cream containing bee venom. Similar in effect to Botox, the bee sting facial helps users maintain a youthful, wrinkle-free glow.

Diamonds (and Rubies) are a Girl’s Best Friend

One of the most extravagant beauty indulgences in Hollywood, the diamond and ruby facial is said to have found a believer in the lovely Mila Kunis. Celebrity skincare guru Scott-Vincent Borba reportedly administered the treatment, which involved using these precious stones as antioxidants for the skin. The price tag for this facial: $7,000!

Mane Attraction

While the majority of unconventional beauty treatments involve skincare, leave it to Gwyneth Paltrow to keep things interesting on the hair front as well. The actress has been known to use a loofah to control fly-away strands.
